Upcoming - Multiplayer PvP

Hi fans of old and new. This is merely an update on what to expect and what to come. At new year i decided to add multiplayer to Dice Hero: The Unoriginal Story, a feature requested since day one when the game was first created at the GMTK 2022 GameJam and i have actively worked on the game ever since then. I have gotten so much feedback from the community, helping me steering the first game i have ever launched and made money on, but you are not here to read about that. You wanna know whats next, how multiplayer will work in this game.

You will be match up against one other player, before battle you will draft your character. Picking Dice, Items, Blessings and Slots, you will be able to upgrade your items and dice in a draft, mutch similar to how you pick your dice and items in the story mode, but all in a sequence.

DRAFTING

• You will be able to see what your opponent pick after each draft phase.
• You will be able to "ban" items that will make them unpickable.
• You will have an option of 6 items/blessings when picking.
• Picking happens in chunks.
• Both players picks at the same time.
• Some items/blessings that are PvE specific like Dust will be banned by default.
  
• New PvP specific items, blessings and enchants like Secret dice enchant for players.

BATTLE

The battle will work very similar how PvE already works but instead of the enemy having a sequence of attacks they will have items. There will be new items that replace some PvE specific like Dust because Dust only affects the attack sequence that does not exist anymore.

To balance the a turn based system the starting player need some form a penalty, i have decided to make the starting player start with Disarm on their Main-Hand item so they can focus on building up an early defence. I know there are items that deal damage and is not main-hand, but those currently can't kill on turn one to my knowledge.

DEMO

I know i have lots of you playing from the web browser and i wanna include you in this update. The demo version of PvP will be highly limited and the pool of what you may pick will be smaller. The demo version may only join rooms and not create them themself so you will need to join someone that has a paid copy of the game.

FEEDBACK

This will take a few more months to add and i expect it to be read around 2024 Q3, and while i add this huge feature that require high rewrite of a lot of the code already added, i do read all the feedback i get. My community have made several items that i have added into the game, even if you are a demo player, come join and add your idea into the game. Have an awesome item idea of a weapon you always wanted but i didn't think of? Come and tell me!
